Protein Pizza

OK hands up who loves pizza? What if I said there was a way to have pizza throughout the week that was tasty, quick and good on the macros. Well there is, here’s my recipe for a clean, moreish protein pizza. There’s a lot of recipes floating around the internet but I’ve found them either too dry or eggy and spongy. This tastes almost like proper Italian pizza. The base is thin and slightly crispy.

In the video I made the protein pizza with Tesco Lighter Mature Cheddar (75g protein for the whole thing).

I have also done this recipe with some MyProtein Cheese, (packs a whopping 83g protein in one pizza). See below for macro breakdown on both.

Top Tip:

If the calories are a bit high for you. You can always sub normal cheese for fat free cheese. If you want to reduce the calories even more, you could opt for some MyProtein Cheese. See second table for macros.

Macros for one whole cheese and tomato pizza using MyProtein Low Fat Protein Cheese:

470 83g 12g 10g 3g

Ingredients

1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
60g unflavoured whey
82g grated Tesco lighter mature cheddar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp dried herbs
100g Tesco Tomato Garlic Pizza Topper
90ml Water
Cooking Spray

Instructions

In a mixing bowl add the whey, bicarbonate of soda, garlic powder and dried herbs and mix.

Gradually add the water and whisk into a batter.

Heat up a large non-stick frying pan and spray with cooking spray (I use Kirkland Signature Canola Oil Cooking Spray).

Once the pan is nice and hot, pour in batter. Cook until top starts to dry out and the edges lift up easily. Carefully flip (This can be tricky, a big spatula is very handy).

Once flipped work quickly to top with pizza sauce and top with cheese.

Add toppings of your choice. I opted for sweet mini peppers and onions. Remember to add the macros for your toppings separately. Place under a preheated grill until cheese is melted and gooey!
