Rich Chocolate Protein Pudding

As I’ve said before I love all things chocolate and sweet. Sometimes just a simple rich chocolate pudding is all I want. So it’s no surprise that I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen to make a chocolate protein pudding as an alternative to the sugary store bought versions.

I should clarify, here in the UK we would call this a chocolate dessert (like custard) but in USA it’s referred to as pudding. Whatever you call it, it’s a simple, rich, satisfying chocolate protein sweet.

After a few tests I got it right. This is a rich, chocolate-y and creamy pudding. It’s a really simple and quick recipe, (the kind I like).

You won’t believe it but this dessert is under 200 calories and packs in 19g of protein too. It’s a win, win. I love it on it’s own or with some fresh fruit.


Pro Tips:

  • Just keep whisking, you might think nothing is changing but it will turn into a rich creamy texture. Patience is key.
  • Place cling film right on top of the pudding to avoid a ‘skin’ when chilled.

Ingredients

60g Unflavoured Impact Whey Protein
9g Stevia Sweetner
30g Cocoa Powder
15g Cornflour
2 cups Skimmed Milk

Instructions

Add the protein powder, stevia, cornflour and cocoa powder to a saucepan and whisk it.

Place the saucepan on low to medium heat and slowly add the milk as you whisk to make a lumpy free milk mixture.

Keep whisking the mixture. It will slowly thicken as you whisk. This may take time but stick with it.

Keep whisking until it turns to a thick batter texture take it off the heat.

Divide into four portions ready to serve. Enjoy warm or chilled.

For a chilled version cover the pudding with cling film, making sure it touches the pudding surface. This stops it getting a skin on top.
